Meet Mia – One of our incredible CSMs who make sure our clients are set up for the best experience possible with us.
This week, we sat down with her to talk through her role at London Speech Workshop, what fuels her love for impactful communication, and her top advice for people looking to transform their communication…
1. What led you to work in communication training?
My background is in finance, but I’ve always wanted to do something that helps people. I love connecting with others, so supporting people to become confident, authentic communicators felt like a natural fit – and a really rewarding one.
2. Tell us more about your role at London Speech Workshop.
I’m the Lead Client Success Manager for one-to-one coaching at London Speech Workshop. I have the joy of speaking to clients from all over the world, learning about their goals, and helping them find the right coach and course to unlock their potential. It’s about understanding what’s holding them back, and then showing them what’s possible.
3. How does the London Speech Workshop approach feel different to other professional environments?
At LSW, we celebrate authenticity. We believe communication should come from a place of truth, not from putting on a mask. That’s what we model, and it’s what we help our clients achieve. It’s a genuinely kind, inclusive, and growth-oriented place to work, where people can show up as their real selves and support each other to thrive.
4. What is your favourite London Speech Workshop memory so far?
One of my clients landed the role of a lifetime after completing our Interview Power course. I spoke to them just before their big interview, and they were so complimentary about the course. They felt confident, well-prepared, and genuinely excited. When their coach later told me they got the job, it honestly made my week. Moments like that are what it’s all about.
5. Why is great communication important to you?
Because communication is connection. When you can express yourself clearly and confidently, in a way that feels true to who you are, it opens doors in every area of life: work, relationships, and beyond. It’s one of the most powerful gifts you can give yourself.
6. Tell us about a time that really inspired how you communicate today.
I grew up as one of seven siblings, and as one of the oldest, I often found myself helping navigate the ups and downs between us all! It taught me empathy, emotional dexterity, and how to handle big emotions with warmth. That’s still how I try to communicate today: with curiosity, compassion, and a belief that conflict can be resolved with kindness and understanding.
7. What do you love doing outside of London Speech Workshop?
I love to move. I believe caring for our bodies is just as important as caring for our minds. Right now, my favourite thing is a long walk with friends through the leafy green of Hampstead Heath. But I’ve also been known to take on the occasional triathlon or half-marathon! And above all, I cherish time with my family, they’re everything to me.
8. And finally, what advice would you give to anyone looking to start communication coaching?
Start now! So many people tell me, “I wish I’d done this 10 years ago.” Don’t wait for a problem to arise. The skills you gain will support you in every area of life and career, and investing in your communication is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You’ll never regret it.
