Marc: Finally Being Taken Seriously
Marc is a senior accountant at JLL. His speech had been a quiet source of friction at home and at work, until a nudge from his wife led him to LSW, and to a change he noticed almost straight away.
The Challenge
For Marc, the problem started close to home. “My wife was always on at me about not speaking clearly,” he says. But it didn’t stay there. It was Marc’s wife who found LSW online and suggested he take a course. Early on, like all clients, Marc was filmed speaking, so he could become aware of what he needed to work on. That moment proved pivotal. “Seeing the video was crucial. You always sound different in your own head.”
From there, the techniques came quickly, and so did the results. A particular highlight for Marc was reciting the poems, which turned the work into something to enjoy. “The course makes it fun to pronounce words, and you start to enjoy the way you’re saying things.”
The Result
What struck Marc most was how soon it all began. “You notice a difference even in the first class.” And more than the mechanics of speech, it was the shift in belief that mattered. “Even a small amount of progress in the first session makes you feel: I can actually change.”
